To measure the specific rotation of cane sugar using Polarimeter

  1. Enter the value of concentration of Sugar Solution in g/cc.
  2. Press the Submit Button.
  3. Enter the value of input Angle θ in degree.
  4. Enter the Length of the tube L in centimeter.
  5. Press “check” button.
  6. Similarly take 5 observations and enter the value of input angle & length in the table.
  7. Press “draw graph” button.
  8. Place the cursor on the graph to note the coordinates of two different points.
  9. Enter the value of ΔX and ΔY press “submit” button.
  10. Slope of the graph and specific rotation will be calculated.
  11. Repeat the experiment by changing the concentration of Sugar Solution.
