Measurement of focal length of the combination of the two lenses separated by a distance

  1. Click “Turn On” button.
  2. Click on “optical bench” button.
  3. Click on the “object” button.
  4. Click on “place lens A” button.
  5. To adjust the position of lens A click on Symbol (+, -) buttons adjust the position of lens A.
  6. Take 5 observations for “u” and “v” for lens A and place these values in table.
  7. Click on “calculate f1” button (focal length of the lens A will be calculated)
  8. Note down this focal length value.
  9. Now press “place lens B” button and repeat the procedure.
  10. Now press “place both lens” button and again repeat the procedure.
